By WLOX Staff

PASCAGOULA, MS  (WLOX) - We have more information today about the investigation into a deadly shooting involving Pascagoula Police officers Monday.  Pascagoula Deputy Chief Kenny Johnson says investigators are canvassing the area today where the chase and shooting happened,  talking with neighbors in the area to find out what they may have witnessed.

Johnson identified the patrolman who was on the motorcycle that was hit in the police pursuit of Grady Wells as Curtis Morse.   Johnson says Morse is recuperating at home today from minor injuries.  Johnson says the other three officers involved in the chase and shooting are also not a work today.

The Deputy Chief confirms that 55 year old, Grady Wells who was shot and killed after attacking three officers with a machete, and trying to run over a fourth, was retired military.  He says Wells was in town spending time with his family because his Dad had recently died.  Johnson says his family members say he was extremely upset about his dad's death.
