BILOXI, MS (WLOX) - Longtime WLOX News reporter Brad Kessie has been named the station's new News Director. WLOX General Manager Dave Vincent made the announcement to staff members Tuesday morning.

Last month, Leon Long announced that his duties would be expanding as a Vice-President for Raycom Media, WLOX-TV's parent company. As a result, Dave Vincent, who had already been serving as both News Director and Station Manager, would assume the duties of General Manager full-time, and that the station would hire a new news director.

Vincent said Tuesday, "It was a tough decision to make, as we had a number of excellent internal and external candidates."

Brad Kessie has worked at WLOX for 21 years, and held a number of positions including weekend assignment editor, anchor and reporter. The Chicago native is a graduate of the University of Missouri School of Journalism, and has won numerous professional awards for his reporting work.
