Man charged with late night Pascagoula murder

PASCAGOULA, MS (WLOX) - Pascagoula police are investigating a late night murder. Police officials say a man was shot several times around 9:45 Monday evening.

The man was found behind a house on Live Oak Avenue and later died at Singing River Hospital.  Jackson County Coroner Vicki Broadus identified the victim as William Martin.

Not long after the shooting, police arrested 19-year-old Demetrius Montrel Williams, a convicted felon from Pascagoula. Williams is being held in the Pascagoula jail.

The fatal shooting is still under investigation.
