Prescription: Prevention

Many of you have been calling the newsroom with concerns about the swine flu. We can tell that the anxiety level is on the rise. Already there have been cases diagnosed in our community and state, but, for the most part they have been just bad cases of the flu.

What you need to remember is to not panic. As health officials have been telling us, some of the best prevention to the swine flu is to follow good hygiene practices. Remember to wash your hands or use antibacterial gel often and if you sneeze or cough use a tissue or cough into your sleeve or arm.

If you do get sick, stay at home, call your doctor and take care of yourself. Remember common sense, good health practices and good hygiene will help us all come through this round of flu.
