IRS YouTube videos could save you money

By WLOX Staff

WASHINGTON, DC (WLOX) - Imagine getting paid to use YouTube or iTunes? That's sort of what the Internal Revenue Service is doing this year. The IRS is using the web to inform taxpayers about changes that could save them cold, hard cash.

The videos posted by the IRS explain the tax provisions in the American Recovery and Investment Act. Among the topics:

  • The $8,000 first-time home buyers credit for Americans who purchased homes this year
  • The sales or excise tax deduction on new car purchases
  • Expanded credits for education and energy conservation
  • The Making Work Pay Tax Credit
