D'IBERVILLE, MS (WLOX) - One man is dead, his brother in critical condition and there are still no arrests in a deadly weekend boating accident. It happened Saturday evening on the Tchoutacabuffa River.

The Department of Marine Resources and the Department of Fishing, Wildlife and Parks spent the afternoon going door-to-door to get some answers.

Fishing and wildlife officers attempted to pull over 26-year-old Conley Bernius for reckless boat operation.

Officials say Bernius initially stopped but suddenly sped away. That's when the Bernius' boat crossed paths with another boat. In that boat was Christoper Webb and his 16-year-old brother. Webb was killed in the boat crash and his teen brother was critically injured. As the investigation continues, DMR officials are urging boaters to use common sense when they're out on Mississippi waterways.

"All you have is common courtesy when it comes to other boaters," said Lt. Donnie Armes. "There's no speed limits up here on the river."

Right now no charges have been filed against the the driver of the boat.
