The Shed shows off its trophy

JACKSON COUNTY (WLOX) - The owners of The Shed made it back from the big apple just one day after winning Regis and Kelly's "Ultimate Hometown Grill-OFF."

The South Mississippi restaurant nabbed the coveted trophy for their pulled pork sandwich.

The Shed had a packed house Saturday afternoon with many locals wanting to celebrate the big win.  There were also a number of visitors ready to try out some "Shed" favorites. Owners Brad Orrision and his sister Brooke still can't get over the big win.

"It's the first time we ever went head-to-head with somebody right there," said Brad Orrison. "So it was a fun and exciting thing."

His sister Brooke Lewis hopes it brings more attention to South Mississippi.

"I hope that it draws people to the Mississippi Gulf Coast, and I hope that all of the restaurants can benefit from people talking about Mississippi and the Mississippi Gulf Coast," Lewis said. "The Regis and Kelly Show has 11 million viewers a day."

"The Shed" will be also featured in an upcoming issue of "Better Homes and Gardens."

The brother-sister duo also received more than $2,000 worth of Krups Kitchen Appliances.
