Zach Scruggs leaves Tupelo halfway house

TUPELO, MS (WLOX) - Zach Scruggs is once again a free man. The son of Dickie Scruggs was released from a halfway house in Tupelo Wednesday, where he's been since February when he was released from federal prison.

Scruggs was sentenced to federal prison on July 2, 2008 for his part in a judicial bribery scheme involving his father. Zach Scruggs was sentenced to serve 14 months in prison after admitting in court he knew about the conspiracy involving his father, but failed to report it.

Dickie Scruggs is serving more than seven years in prison for his part in two judicial bribery schemes.
