Steffon Walby, the ECHL Player of the Month of December, leads the ECHL netting 8 game winning goals, despite missing 10 games this season. He's tied for second in the league with 5 shorthanded goals and leads the Sea Wolves with 10 powerplay goals.
The Madison, Wisconsin native leads by example. He and Dave Paradise share the team lead bagging 51 points. Walby has scored 21 goals and 30 assists. The ECHL has taken notive, selecting the 37-year-old veteran to the All-Star Classic, first team.
Steffon is looking foward to Tuesday's All-Star clash.
Walby said, "Of course its an honor, a situation in which its voted by the league and that makes it even more special. This is my first one and I'm glad we have two other Sea Wolves players on the Southern Conference in Baxter and Davyduke. I'm excited to play with that calibur of talent. There's a lot of young players we can take a look at because we'll be facing them in the playoffs."
One day Steffon Walby will become a head coach. Right now he's doing an excellent job serving as the Sea Wolves player-coach.
