JACKSON, MS (WLOX) - The state auditor's office says it's busted a corruption ring in Yazoo City, involving five employees of the Mississippi Department of Transportation.
The workers were arrested for allegedly taking products owned by MDOT and paid for with public money, then selling them on the black market.
"We're talking somewhere around $10,000 ultimately will be involved," State Auditor Stacey Pickering said.
The arrested employees are all from the MDOT office in Yazoo City. They've been indicted by a grand jury on multiple counts of embezzlement, conspiracy, fraudulently using public money, and entering false information in public records.
