GULFPORT, MS (WLOX) - We caught up with Bob Taylor at one of his three restaurants in South Mississippi, High Cotton in Gulfport.

Taylor just started a new operation called High Cotton Food Services. And he's already been awarded a $1.4 million contract to provide 3,000 meals per day at the Harrison County Jail.

"They won't be getting fried green tomatoes, but I think it's important that they have well balanced meals," Taylor said as he walked around the kitchen facilities at the Harrison County jail.

Taylor takes over for a big company out of Jackson and will begin serving breakfast, lunch and dinner at the jail on August 15th. The board awarded Bob Taylor the contract because supervisors thought it was important to keep the money in Harrison County.

"This means that all the dollars and profits will stay right here," Taylor said.

High Cotton Food Services will feed both the inmates and the staff at the Harrison County Adult Detention Center.
