Center Stage in Biloxi opens its own version of the show Thursday night with performances through August 2nd.
The story takes place during the roaring twenties in Chicago. Aspiring chorus girl Roxie Hart, played by Angela Liberto, murders her cheating lover and is sent to death row.
Velma Kelly, played by Stephanie Williams-Fountain, is Roxie's rival on death row, as both vie for the spotlight and the headlines searching for fame, fortune, and acquittal. They're counting on attorney Billy Flynn, played by Keith Ballard, to get them out of jail.
This show features musical favorites inccluding All That Jazz, Razzle Dazzle, When You're Good to Mama, and Mister Cellophane.
A talented cast of more than twenty performers round out the show. Chicago is directed by Chuck White, with musical direction by Kathleen Dodge-DeHaven, and choreography by Jennifer Krohn-Densing.
