MOSS POINT, MS (WLOX) - Two elderly Moss Point residents are recovering after being attacked and robbed at their home. The home invasion happened Tuesday evening on Frank Griffin Road.

"They came behind the van and came up on porch," Harold Stirewalt said.

Stirewalt is giving the horrible details of what happened to him and his wheelchair bound wife, Katherine. He said five people walked into their home and just started beating them with a steel pipe.

"It was three blacks and one white that came in, and a white lady outside standing guard," Stirewalt said about the attack. "There is where he got me first. I threw up my hands and he got me on these fingers."

The elderly man also has deep, visible bruises on his ribs and stomach. His wife is also marked up badly.

"It hurts like crazy," Katherine Stirewalt said.

During the attack, the two said the group also stole their valuables and cash.

"They took my TV, my 42 inch flat screen, my laptop computer, my money," Katherine Stirewalt said.

"I had some pain pills and they got them too," Harold Stirewalt said.

Moss Point Police are aggressively looking for the five people, and they're calling on the community to help solve this case.

"Any information they know about these subjects; who they hang out with, the places they may frequently come to, let us know so we can pick them up," Police officer Tiffany Deeds said.

The couple said they know one of the people who attacked them, but police have not released any names.

"She was my youngest grandson's girlfriend, and she had been forbidden to come on the property. I think it can be retaliation for that."

The Stirewalts just want those responsible for the attack put in jail.

"Right now, I don't feel safe in my own home."

If you have any information about this incident, please call the Moss Point Police Department at (228) 475-1711.
