JACKSON COUNTY, MS (WLOX) - A third person has been arrested and charged in the March slaying of a wheelchair-bound Jackson County woman.

U.S. Marshals and the Rankin County Sheriff's Department arrested Nancy Scott in Brandon Friday in connection with Donna Slayter's murder. Two men, Johnny Lee Townsend and Joe Loggins, were arrested and charged with the murder earlier this year.

Jackson County Sheriff Mike Byrd believes Scott transported the men to and from the crime scene.

"We had always believed that there was another person that may have been involved in this, who may have taken them out there and picked them up," Sheriff Byrd told WLOX News. "We think that will be all the suspects that are involved in this lady's homicide. And hopefully we can get it brought to trial pretty quick."

Scott is charged with capital murder. She's currently being held in the Jackson County Adult Detention Center.
