NEW YORK (WLOX) - The Shed's Brad Orrison spread a little South Mississippi flavor on the Big Apple this week when he appeared on LIVE with Regis and Kelly Thursday morning.

The Ocean Springs chef won the Pulled Pork Sandwich category in the show's "Ultimate Hometown Grill Off" contest. The prize was a chance to show off his famous recipes to a national audience.

That means that the restaurant's once closely guarded secrets are out. (Click on the links to see recipes for The Shed's Famous Pulled Pork Sandwich, Poppa Jacks' Shed Spread and Daddy O's Creamy Cole Slaw.)

Brad and his sister Brooke Lewis made a video appeal to online users. When the votes were tabulated, The Shed's video won, and Brad was chosen to appear on the broadcast. But Brooke and brother Brett were close by for the taping. Brett Orrison is the Entertainment Director for The Shed and a record producer living in Austin, Texas. He flew in to surprise the family, and help celebrate the appearance.

Of course, being on television is nothing new for Brad or Brooke. Their funky BBQ joint has been featured on other shows like the Food Network's "Diners, Drive-ins and Dives."

The Orrisons will spend a little time visiting New York before returning home. You can find out more about The Shed online at www.theshedbbq.com.

The "Ultimate Hometown Grill Off" isn't over. In a few weeks, the category winners will face off for the grand prize, a spread in Better Homes & Gardens magazine. WLOX.com will be sure to let you know when that round of online voting starts.
