BILOXI, MS (WLOX) - An employee at a Biloxi check cashing business is recovering after being severely beaten by an armed robber. But Biloxi Police are still searching for her attacker.

The incident happened shortly before 10am Thursday at Pay Day Loan and Check Cashing on Pass Road, near Keesler's Gate 7. Officers spent several hours Thursday canvassing the neighborhood around Iberville Drive and Pass Road.

"A witness saw the victim actually coming out of the business with blood. They went to her aid and called for assistance. When we arrived, we did find the victim had been injured. She gave us a basic description of a person that are looking for currently," Capt. Darrin Peterson told WLOX News.

The robber is described as a black man, about six feet tall and heavy set. He was last seen wearing a black shirt with gold writing. Police say he should be considered armed and dangerous.

It's not know if the robber got away with any money. If you have any information that could help investigators, call the Biloxi Police Department.
