A gunfight at a Biloxi nightclub early Sunday morning ended with a Biloxi police officer shooting one of the suspects. The Mississippi Highway Patrol and the Harrison County District Attorney's office are investigating the incident which took place at Mustang Sally's on Highway 90 near Rodenberg Avenue.
Sunday, orange spray paint marks the spots in the parking lot where cars were parked and bullet casings were found. Mustang Sally's owner, John Lankford, told WLOX News, that security escorted two men out of the club for fighting before they went back to their cars to get their guns.
Lankford says, a Biloxi officer ordered one of the men to lower his gun. But when that did not happened, the officer fired, hitting the man in the shoulder.
The district attorney's office says that the wounded man is recovering at the hospital. His name and age have not been released, and police are still searching for the other suspect. and police are still searching for the other suspect.
Assistant District Attorney Mark Ward told us no charges have been filed at this time. The name of the Biloxi officer has not been release. He is on administrative leave until a grand jury can determine that his actions were justified, and Ward say since the courts are on Christmas vacation, that most like will not happen until the first of the year.
