SAUCIER, MS (WLOX) - Highway 49 southbound at the Harrison-Stone County line is shut down because of an accident involving two 18 wheelers.

Highway Patrol officials tell WLOX News that one of the trucks caught on fire. The driver of that 18 wheeler was air lifted to Forrest General Hospital in Hattiesburg. No hazardous chemicals were involved in the accident, and no other injuries have been reported.

Southbound traffic is being rerouted to the northbound lanes, which is now two way traffic.  Officials hope to have the scene cleared by 5:30pm.
