MOSS POINT, MS (WLOX) - A Moss Point man was arrested Tuesday after officials say he fired a rifle at a man who had sped past his property.

Jackson County Sheriff Mike Byrd said William Clayton, 20, saw a vehicle speeding past his home on Valley Forge Road in Moss Point. This happened several times and Clayton even had an argument with the driver. So Clayton followed the vehicle to another residence on Bunker Hill Road in Moss Point, where he saw the driver, David Wilson, 26, and his brother, Daniel Wilson, 26, standing in the front yard.

Officials say as the brothers approached the vehicle, Clayton fired a shot from a 3006 rifle. The round struck the ground and ricocheted, striking David Wilson in the left shoulder. Fragments from the round also struck Daniel Wilson in the hand.

The brothers were taken to Singing River Hospital for treatment. Both have been released.

Clayton was arrested and taken to the Jackson County Adult Detention Center. He's charged with Aggravated Assault, pending an initial appearance in County Court.
