HARRISON COUNTY, MS (WLOX) - An Ohio man suspected of killing and dismembering a Long Beach man this week has killed before. Officials say in 2001, Richard Lambert admitted killing Rebecca Ritchie. The woman's body was found in the Ohio River.

Lambert was charged with reckless homicide, and served about five years. He was released in 2008.

While in jail for Ritchie's slaying, investigators say Lambert conspired with his cell mate to escape. He was charged with conspiracy to escape, aiding and abetting. Lambert was wanted by federal Marshals for a supervised release violation related to that charge.

Thursday night, Marshals and Task Force Officers from the Central Kentucky Fugitive Task Force finally caught up with Lambert in the Clifton suburb of Cincinnati. Marshals found his vehicle outside Cincinnati State University at an apartment complex.

Marshals spotted Lambert smoking a cigarette outside of the apartment complex. Lambert tried to run away, but the Marshals discharged a taser to stop him. Lambert was arrested with no injuries to the officers or Lambert.
