Wife points police to pot, gun

WAVELAND, MS (WLOX) - When Waveland Police officers showed up at a Tiffany Street home last Thursday, they probably didn't expect the woman inside to be as helpful as she was.

The officers were there to serve a search warrant. They were greeted at the door by Carrie Jeffrey, her two small children and two Pit Bulls. Two men, including Christopher Housley who was renting a room, were also found inside.

The officers cleared everyone out and told Mrs. Jeffrey what the warrant was for. She quickly told them that if they looked in her closet, they'd find about half a pound of marijuana and a .380 caliber handgun. She said Housley had another four ounces of pot in his closet.

Police say Mrs. Jeffrey then admitted that her husband, Curtis Jeffrey, was selling the marijuana and should be home at any time. So the officers waited. When Mr. Jeffrey arrived, police arrested him and roommate Christopher Housley.

Jeffrey, 26, and Housley, 25, are both charged with possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver. Bond for each man was set at $5,000. Their initial court date in Waveland Municipal Court is May 28.
