William Carey Student Killed In Hit & Run

The men and women's soccer teams at William Carey College are undergoing counseling this evening after one of their teammates died in an accident this morning which police say was caused by a drunk driver. Treacy Staunton of Dublin, Ireland was one of five passengers in a car that was hit from behind on Highway 90 near Edgewater mall.

The 20-year old Staunton, wearing the number 4 jersey, was an outside fullback on the women's soccer team. Biloxi Police charged 27-year old Michael Joseph Kramm of Pass Christian with felony DUI and leaving the scene of an accident causing death.

Police say he slammed his S-U-V into the students' Honda Civic. Staunton died of head injuries, the other four students were treated and released. Kramm is in the Harrison County Jail under 125,000 dollars bond.
