Honoring police in Biloxi

By Krystal Allan - bio | email

BILOXI, MS (WLOX) - Law enforcement across the coast were honored at a coast-wide police appreciation service at The Church of the Redeemer in Biloxi.

The sounds of Amazing Grace filled the room as the program got underway. Supervisor Windy Swetman, a former police officer whose family has served for five generations, was the speaker.

Shortly thereafter, the names of those who paid the ultimate price were read, as candles were lighted in their honor.

Outside, in the remains of the church's bell tower, 37 crosses adorned with flowers stood in honor of the fallen officers.
