HANCOCK COUNTY, MS (WLOX) - The Hancock County Sheriff's Department confirmed Wednesday's grim news about Supervisor Jay Cuevas. He died from a self inflicted gunshot wound from a handgun.
Officials say they found the gun next to him. Additional sources also confirm Cuevas left a note for his family.
Funeral services for Jay Cuevas will be Saturday at St. Matthew The Apostle Catholic Church in Hancock County's White Cypress community. Visitation begins at 10am, with a mass at 1pm.
Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery, Rotten Bayou in Pass Christian. Riemann Funeral Home on Kiln Delisle Road is handling the arrangements.
