PASCAGOULA, MS (WLOX) - Pascagoula police officers received information that 55-year-old Rosalio Nieves Gonzalez of Pascagoula was possibly selling narcotics from his residence.
Pascagoula's Special Response Team began conducting surveillance on Mr. Gonzalez and his home. Mr. Gonzalez was later stopped for a traffic violation after leaving his home. Officers arrested Mr. Gonzalez for no driver license, improper equipment and no insurance. When officers searched Mr. Gonzalez, they found two gram baggies of Cocaine HCL.
Officers returned to Mr. Gonzalez's residence, 1311 A 11th Street. They searched his residence, and the search revealed approximately 90 grams of powder cocaine, a semi automatic pistol, several sets of digital scales, tally sheets and $656.00.
Officers also seized Mr. Gonzalez's 2001 Lincoln Navigator and $457.00 during the traffic stop.
Mr. Gonzalez's was transported to Pascagoula Municipal Jail where he was charged with Possession of a Schedule II Controlled Substance while in possession of a firearm within fifteen hundred feet of a church, no driver's license, improper equipment and no insurance.
Mr. Gonzalez is currently in Pascagoula Municipal Jail awaiting an initial appearance before Judge Michael Fondren.
