Waveland Ward 3 Race Comes Down To Coin Toss

The Ward Four Alderman race came down to another tie Wednesday night after workers counted the affidavit ballots from Tuesday's election.

Tuesday, Santo Saucier and incumbent Charles Piazza tied with 145 votes. After the affidavits ballots were counted Wednesday night they tied again, with 163 votes each. So Police Chief Jimmy Varnell flipped a coin and Santo Saucier came out the winner.

The votes were recounted 3 times after the coin toss and the results were the same. No word on if the race will be contested.

Affidavit ballots provided a clear winner in the Ward 3 Aldermen race. Brian Schmitt won that race with 147 votes to Clarence Harris' 119.
