Picayune woman dies in car accident

HANCOCK COUNTY, MS (WLOX) - A Picayune woman died Tuesday when her Nissan Altima collided with a Peterbilt truck. The accident happened around 11:30am on Texas Flat Road, just two miles west of McLeod Park.

Robin Ashley Barber, 25, was pronounced dead at the scene by Coroner Norma Stiglet.

The driver of the 18 wheeler, 52-year-old Tommy Glenn Mallett, was taken to Hancock Medical Center. The Saucier man was treated and released.

Sheriff Steve Garber said his department is still gathering and analyzing evidence.

Investigator H. Matthew Carver is in charge of the investigation.
