Mississippi Gulf Coast Bulldogs Football Team Will Scrimmage In Ocean Springs

Perkinstson-- Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College football team will be on display April 18 at Hugh Pepper Field at Ocean Springs High School.  Coach Steve Campbell will begin a Bulldogs scrimmage at 10 a.m.

Two-time defending MACJC State Champions are fine tuning their talents for the upcoming 2009 football season.  Gulf Coast ran off 10 wins in 12 games in 2008 and captured the first ever Mississippi Bowl.

Gulf Coast athletic director Ladd Taylor said, "We're excited to have fans on the Coast get an up close and personal look at most of the team that will be competing next fall.  We have a dynamic group of returning players from last year's championship team."

Under head caoch Steve Campbell, Gulf Coast has run off an impressive won-loss record.  His Bulldogs have posted 34 wins, 8 losses, were the 2007 NJCAA Co-National Champions, two MACJC State titles, three MACJC South Division trophies and two bowl victories.

When the Bulldogs kick off the 2009 campaign, they'll be playing on a brand-new synthetic turf at A.L. May Memorial Stadium.

Admission to the Gulf Coast Spring Football Scrimmage is free.
