LONG BEACH, MS (WLOX) - A coast church is marking a century of faith, family and community. On Sunday, members of Long Beach Presbyterian church celebrated the church's 100th anniversary.

The special service included a sermon from a former pastor of 30 years, Reverend Charles Holliman. Members say the church has lasted so long because of dedicated people.

Church member Terry Dill said, "We've had some good core people that have been members of the church for a long time and have worked to keep it together. In recent years, we've helped serve the community by serving as home to the Presbyterian Disaster Relief people."

"As a matter of fact we have 15 people here now living in our facilities who are going out and providing help to members of the community by repairing their homes."

After the service, church members and visitors gathered for a celebration lunch.

"Any time a church can obtain that goal, it's got to be considered an important occasion and certainly we consider it to be an important occasion," said Dill.
