Road updates throughout Harrison, Hancock and Jackson Co.

SOUTH MISSISSIPPI (WLOX) - Here's the latest update on roads throughout Harrison, Hancock and Jackson Counties.

In Hancock County: most major roads are open.  Emergency Management Director Bryan Adam says officials are driving around to gather a complete list.

In Harrison County: Long Ridge Drive, north of 28th Street in Long Beach and Canal Road, north of 28th Street in Harrison County have standing water but ARE OPEN. 

In Jackson County: Anderson, Waycross, Cambridge, J.F. Douglass, Old Biloxi, Seaman and Toticaw roads are NOW OPEN.

  • Jackson County (east part of county): Pioneer Trail, Coda, Ollie Vice, Franks, State Line (near Kenner-Williams), Dawnview, Dawnridge, Sunrise, Charpenter, Jody, Jeffrey and Kings Road ARE CLOSED.  Cedar Creek, Holder and Red Bluff foads are also closed and water was still rising as of 7:00p.m. Saturday night.
  • Jackson County (in the Forts Lake and Franklin Creek area): Valley Forge, Jackson Creek Bridge and Orange Grove, Bunker Hill roads and Jackson Creek Bridge are ARE CLOSED.
  • Jackson County (in Vancleave): North-end of Old River and Humphrey and Ocean Springs Roads toward Highway 57 and Highway 57 near the Coke plant ARE CLOSED.
  • In Jackson County (additional parts of county): Woodfield, Rosefarm, Wedgewood, Lamey Bridge, Johnson Steele and Daisy Vestry roads ARE CLOSED.  Solomon Road will be closed until after Tuesday.

    Harrison County Coroner Gary Hargrove will pay $110,000 after a settlement was reached in a lawsuit alleging discrimination. That's according to county attorney Tim Holleman.
