GULFPORT, MS (WLOX) - In 1934, South Mississippi businessman Salvadore Bertucci started a business called S.J. Bertucci Distributing Company. He signed a contract with Jackson Brewing Company out of New Orleans.

Salvadore's grandson, Frank, describes the operation.

"It was one man, one truck and one beer, Jax beer."

In 1946, the Bertucci family changed the name of the business to F.E.B. Distributing Company. The Bertucci family business has come a long way since those early days.

"Now we have 140 brands of beer and 100 employees," Bertucci said.

At 84, Frank Bertucci is the heart and soul of F.E.B. He says family has always been the secret to success for the beer distributor.

"It relates back to the old family business," Bertucci said.

Mr. Bertucci stops by the family warehouse in Gulfport every day.

"Mostly because I've always been a guy who likes working," Bertucci said.

F.E.B. is celebrating 75 years in the beer business and will observe the remarkable accomplishment of surviving and thriving in a competitive business throughout the year.
