Pedestrian killed by train in Pascagoula

PASCAGOULA, MS (WLOX) - An pedestrian died in Pascagoula after being struck by a train. The accident happened late Friday night west of the intersection at Chicot street.

The train sounded its horn to warn the victim it was approaching. Warning lights and crossing arms were also in operation. Authorities say the pedestrian was dead when they arrived on the scene.

The Jackson County coroner has not identified the victim.
