Sea Wolves Slip Past Everblades 3-2 In Overtime

Biloxi, MS - Mathieu Melancon got the 7,162 fans inside the Mississippi Coast Coliseum on their feet when he scored the game winner on a power play in overtime.

The Sea Wolves backhanded a rebound off Bill LeClerc's shot sending the puck past Florida's goalkeeper David Leggio at 8:26 of the first period.

The Everblades tied the game at 8:09 of the second period on Steve McJannet's goal off a rebound of A.J. Thelen's shot.

On a breakaway Pat Oliveto sent the puck to Ryan Menei and he fired the puck past Leggion giving Mississippi a 2-1 advantage at 3:53 into the third period.

The Everblades tied the game at two on Kevin Baker's 48th goal of the season at 15:19 of the third period.

In the overtime period, Danick Bouchard took a delay of game penalty when he shot the puck out of the rink from the defensive zone and the Sea Wolves took advantage of the power play opportunity.  Mathieu Melancon ripped a one-timer past Leggion at 3:39 of overtime giving the Sea Wolves a 3-2 victory.

The Sea Wolves and Everblades clash again 7:05 p.m. Saturday inside the Wolves' Den.
