HATTIESBURG, MS (WLOX) - UPDATE: A Biloxi man charged with killing someone outside of a Hattiesburg steakhouse Wednesday night claims the shooting was an accident.

Jeremy Scott Clark made his initial appearance Friday. He is accused of killing 21-year-old John Alexander Edwards, III.

Police say the shooting took place Wednesday night after the two 21-year-old men had argued. Clark has been at Camp Shelby with the Mississippi National Guard since November.

Clark is now being held in the Forrest County Jail on $500,000 bond.

Police have not identified the victim in the shooting. Forrest County Coroner Butch Benedict said the victim's name will not be released until family members are notified.
