Moments after Katrina's eye passed through south Mississippi, it was Brad Kessie who stood near the water's edge and summarized the storm with a sentence that nobody will ever forget. He looked into a camera lens and said, "You're absolutely not going to believe what you're about to see."
After more than two decades of reporting memorable, award winning stories for WLOX, Brad was named News Director. It's an operation he's proud to have a chance to lead.
"When you spend almost half your life at a place like WLOX, the people who work there truly become your family members," Brad said. "I have such respect and admiration for the talented professionals who bring you the News for South Mississippi. They're dedicated. They're hard working. And they care about the community we call home."
Brad is a Chicago native who graduated from the University of Missouri School of Journalism. In his free time, he serves on two boards and plays plenty of golf. He also roots for the Cubs, the Bears, the Bulls, and the Missouri Tigers.
