Gulfport Police Investigate Murder-Suicide

Gulfport Police are investigating an apparent murder-suicide. Chief Alan Weatherford says it happened Thursday afternoon at an apartment complex on Lindh Road.

According to police, Ben Dale McInnis beat his girlfriend, Juanakee M. Parkman, to death and then shot himself.

Investigators determined that Parkman died from blunt trauma to the head. Both people were found dead inside the apartment.

    Gautier Police confirm the body found behind a Jackson County church 10 days ago was Amanda Hicks. And they believe James Russel Vanlaningham, Jr. killed her. A Gautier Police Department news release says the state medical examiner's office has positively identified Hicks. What scientists couldn't determine yet was how she died.
