Rare sight on beach offers hope

Driving along Highway 90 in Biloxi there is a sight to behold. A new restaurant is actually being built on the beach. Quite a rare sight to see post Hurricane Katrina.

Shaggy's Restaurant is going up in an area along the beach that used to be home to several restaurants before Katrina. And another pre-Katrina fixture, McElroy's, is also in the process of coming back to Biloxi's small craft harbor.

Across the coast line there are other glimmers of hope, like Steve's Marina Grill going up in Long Beach's Harbor and Tripani's across from Bay St. Louis' beach front. These beach front restaurant developments offer us hope, that we have turned another recovery corner.

It is our hope and prayer that these businesses are just the first of many more to come along our beach front.

That's our opinion, we would like to hear yours. Email your thoughts to editorials@wlox.com, or post your comments below.
