BILOXI, MS (WLOX) - An 18-month-old girl died from hyperthermia after being left in a car for seven hours, according to Harrison County Coroner Gary Hargrove.
The child, Esther Tsang, was pronounced dead on arrival at Biloxi Regional Medical Center on Tuesday evening at 5:49 pm. Esther is the daughter of Dr. Brian and Mrs. Tsang of Biloxi.
Hargrove told WLOX News, the mother went to work at 10:00 on Tuesday morning and left at 5:00 pm. When she got to the car, she saw her daughter in the backseat and drove immediately to the emergency room where the 18-month-old was pronounced dead.
Biloxi Police Chief John Miller said, "We are continuing to investigate and do not expect any foul play. The child was left in the car at the now closed Gulf Coast Medical center on DeBuys Road."
Hargrove said he is working with Biloxi Police as the investigation continues.
