ST. GABRIEL, La. (AP) - Two St. Gabriel police officers were arrested accused of taking $2,000 from a man killed in an August car accident.
Louisiana State Police spokesman, Trooper Russell Graham III, says Officer Keith Snowten, 23, of St. Gabriel, allegedly took the money on Aug. 8 after responding to a single vehicle crash in St. Gabriel. Graham says Snowten gave his colleague, 32-year-old Officer Rodrick Wesley, of Bayou Goula, half of the money. Wesley also responded to the accident.
Troopers arrested the men Thursday at state police headquarters in Baton Rouge. Graham says the men will be booked into East Baton Rouge Parish Prison on charges of theft and malfeasance in office and then transferred to Iberville Parish where the alleged crimes occurred.
