PEARL RIVER COUNTY, MS (WLOX) - Authorities are asking for your help in the search for an escaped inmate, Waylon Lee Strickland. Officials say Strickland escaped from Pearl River County Jail near 4:30, Sunday afternoon.
Strickland is a white male, 5'11" with green eyes and blonde hair, although his photo depicts him as bald. He is 31 years old and weighs 220 pounds. Strickland has tattoos on his arms and back. One of those, according to authorities, is the image of a Mississippi map on his back. He was last seen wearing MDOC green and white striped pants and a Pearl River County white pullover shirt. Authorities believe he may also have a blue MDOC jacket with him.
Strickland is serving a 3-year sentence from Greene County for Possession of Precursors and Possession of a Controlled Substance. He is listed as a State/County work program inmate.
