Bilox, MS (WLOX) - A Biloxi church is under new leadership. Bishop Roger Morin installed Father Jimmy Pham as the new parish priest for Vietnamese Martyrs Catholic Church on Sunday in Biloxi. Church officials say the church has not had a permanent pastor in nine years.

Father Pham says he wants to help the Vietnamese people especially the teenagers preserve their culture. He also wants to expand church's community outreach, so more people can learn about God.

Father Jimmy Pham said, "I'd like to help people here to become holier, love one another first. And after that we can. I'm planning to build a parish hall for teachings the kids C.C.D., religion and Vietnamese. "

Father Pham says he would like to see the Biloxi Catholic Diocese purchase land that is adjacent to the church.
