ASHVILLE, Ala. (AP) - Three people have pleaded guilty in the death of a disabled Ashville man whose burned body was found on top of Chandler Mountain in Steele.

St. Clair County Assistant District Attorney Lamar Williamson says 39-year-old James Allen Samples of Oneonta and 52-year-old Donna Jones of Ashville pleaded guilty to manslaughter and abuse of a corpse in the death of 50-year-old Alfred Watson III.

Williamson says 65-year-old Jerry Jones pleaded guilty to criminally negligent homicide and abuse of a corpse and received two consecutive 1-year jail sentences.

He says Donna Jones was sentenced to 10 years for manslaughter and one year for abuse of a corpse, and that Samples was sentenced to 20 years, with five years to be spent in prison.

Donna and Jerry Jones were Watson's caretakers.
