MOSS POINT, MS (WLOX) - Moss Point Police responded to a shooting at the Paradise Lounge on Shortcut Road in Moss Point at 3:30 Sunday morning.

When police arrived on the scene, they found one person dead inside the club and six others injured outside the club.

Jackson County Coroner Vicky Broadus has identified the victim as Joshua Miller.

The six injured were taken to Singing River Hospital. Hospital officials say two were admitted, one was transferred to University of South Alabama and three were discharged.

Singing River Hospital officials say it's one of the largest shooting they've had to work in recent years.

The club's owner said he's surprised and frustrated at the violence.

In a news release sent out Sunday, Moss Point Police said, "An argument between two of the patrons escalated into gun fire, which resulted in one fatality and six persons injured. The names of the victims and suspects are being withheld at this time pending notification of their families."

Moss Point Police refused our request for an interview Sunday. They plan to release an update on the investigation Monday morning.

If you have information on this incident, please call the Moss Point Police Department at (228) 475-1711.
