ASHLAND, Miss. (AP) - Two Benton County residents have been sentenced on charges of conspiracy to commit voter fraud.
Clinton Moffitt of Hickory Flat and Ada Moore Tucker of Ashland were convicted in June.
Attorney General Jim Hood and Secretary of State Delbert Hosemann said in separate releases that Circuit Judge Andrew K. Howorth on Tuesday sentenced Moffitt to five years in prison with two years suspended, two years to serve and one year under house arrest. The judge also ordered two years of post release supervision.
Howorth sentenced Tucker to five years with three years suspended, one year to serve and one year under house arrest plus three years of post release supervision.
Moffitt and Tucker were among 16 people indicted on charges stemming from the 2007 elections in Benton County.
