East Central stays alive in its hunt for another baseball title

Matt Linton had two run scoring hits, and then recorded the final four outs on the mound as East Central High School staved off elimination by beating West Lauderdale 8-7. The Hornets came into Saturday's matchup down one game to none in this best of three state championship series.  A loss at Trustmark Park would have derailed East Central's hopes of a Class 4A repeat.
