MOSS POINT, MS (WLOX) - Lee Andrew Gipson will appear in a Jackson County courthouse on April 15. Gipson is accused of murdering 64-year-old Willie C. Williams back in 2016.

Police charged Gipson with capital murder after Williams was found stabbed to death in his home on August 19, 2016. But friends told police they weren’t able to get in contact with Williams since August 17, 2016. The Jackson County coroner’s office described the murder as "horrific’ and said Williams was stabbed more than 50 times in the back.

The murder shocked the community, who remembered Williams as a friendly person and influential educator.
