It’s going to be a soggy Wednesday! Scattered showers have moved through South Mississippi this morning, and our rain chances will remain pretty high through the morning. However, much heavier rain is expected by the afternoon.
A strong cold front is going to approach us by late Wednesday morning with widespread showers and a few storms. Heavy rain will likely pass through by the early afternoon, and the heaviest of the rain will exit by the early evening. Once it’s all said and done, we may pick up about 1-2″ of rain in South Mississippi.
Our overall severe weather threat is low, but there is a small chance for a strong storm or two. We’re looking at the time frame for us around 10 AM through 4 PM. Strong winds could develop with these storms. A brief tornado is possible, but the tornado threat is very low.
The rain will be tapering off by midnight, and we’ll be much cooler by Thursday. Lows will drop into the 30s by the morning!
