NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) - New Orleans Saints quarterback Drew Brees will be sporting a pair of custom designed cleats for Sunday’s NFC Championship game.
The New Orleans Saints shared photos of the custom cleats on their social media pages before Sunday’s game against the Los Angeles Rams.
The shoes, that were designed by Miami artist Marcus Rivero of Soles by Sir, feature several references to Brees' life and career such as the names of his wife and four children, a patch honoring Saints owner Tom Benson and logos from Westlake High School and Purdue University on the sides. On the back are the numbers 4-0 for the quarterback who turned 40-years-old on Tuesday.
Rivero shared a sneak peek of the shoes on his Instagram Friday with the caption, “In life you will come across great people. When you do, amazing things will happen.”
Earlier this season, Brees collaborated with Rivero to design his shoes for the NFL’s “My Cause My Cleats” campaign to bring awareness to his organization “Brees Dream”.
