NETTLETON, MS (WLBT) - Drug agents in north Mississippi have arrested a 76-year-old retired registered pharmacist for allegedly running an illegal pharmacy from his floral shop.

According to Mississippi Bureau of Narcotics Director John Dowdy, agents executed warrants for the arrest of John Hall.

They also searched his business called The Flower Garden, located at 172 Young Avenue in Nettleton.

There they found an assortment of prescription drugs.

Hall is charged with felony sale of tapentadol, a prescription opioid analgesic; felony possession with intent to sell or distribute soma, a prescription muscle relaxer; and misdemeanor practicing medicine without a license.

“Mr. Hall could face additional charges,” Director Dowdy said.

The U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration’s Tactical Diversion Unit, Mississippi Board of Pharmacy, North Mississippi Narcotics Unit and Lee County Sheriff’s Office assisted the MBN in the three-month investigation that led to Hall’s arrest.

“It is always good when agencies work together for the safety and welfare of our communities,” said Sheriff Jim Johnson.
