GULFPORT, MS (WLOX) - For the second in two weeks, the Biloxi Indians came into Bert Jenkins Gymnasium and left victorious. Only this time, the 2018 Adidas Holiday Classic championship was on the line.
After falling behind 16-5 at the end of the first quarter, Biloxi rallied to outlast Gulfport 54-46 to come out on top of the 36th annual holiday showcase. With the victory, Biloxi (15-0) kept their undefeated record intact.
Leading Long Beach 30-15 in the first half, Picayune seemed well on their way to clinching third place in the Adidas Holiday Classic. However, the Bearcats put together a huge second half rally, coming back to hold off the Maroon Tide 68-62 in overtime.
The defending Adidas Holiday Classic champions couldn’t quite replicate their success this season, as Harrison Central fell to Vestavia Hills 53-40 in the fifth place game, while Pascagoula handled Corinth 70-53 to place seventh.
